expressive art therapy retreats:
Unique to Phases of Change Therapeutic Arts, Expressive Art Therapy Retreats are 2-3 day long immersion-style experiences which combine group work and Expressive Art Therapy with skill building, interpersonal connectivity, self-exploration, and the development of new creative confidence.
Retreats include workshops, group therapy sessions, individual reflection time and are held in locations which afford adjunct experiences unique to Vermont such as skiing, hiking, snowshoeing and more.
Retreats available beginning in Spring, 2018. Please check here for retreat-specific brochures soon, and email me if you would like to be notified of offerings when they become available.
RETREAT OFFERINGS IN 2017 WILL BE HELD AT THE HISTORIC WAYBURY INN:
Tucked into the base of the mountain a few miles below the Middlebury Snow Bowl and the Robert Frost memorial trails, the historic Waybury Inn offers excellence in lodging, dining and space to gather. With a rich and compelling narrative of her own, the Inn was a favored spot of Robert Frost himself and is widely recognized as the staged location of the long-running show, 'Newhart'.
our many purposed pieces:
At right are a sampling of blocks created by a women's group I facilitated in Pittsford, Vermont. As a community group, we utilized a mutual-aid model, with each participant bringing skills and insight to the process. The historic art of Crazy Quilting, the original "quiet protest" of the Victorian age, is a fitting metaphor and apt Expressive Art process for exploring issues specific to women in both historic and contemporary contexts. This quilt now lives in my therapy studio in Rutland where it offers warmth, comfort and many points of conversation.
