Individual Therapy

Seeking therapy in a time of vulnerability is a strength and a starting point to a healthier life. Everyone has times in which struggles feel unmanageable.

Those who respond proactively can expect greater gains. If you've decided to seek therapy, I commend the start of your important journey. Individual therapy is relationship-based and deeply personal so the right connection is imperative. I encourage people to think of meeting me, or any therapist for the first time, as an interview.

In an initial session we will discuss your goals and my services. During this initial process your objectives will be explored, and we will map what you want your journey to address and work through. I'll give you my professional disclosure in writing.

During a first session, we will discuss the following:

  • Confidentiality

  • What brings you to therapy in general terms

  • How I work and my theoretical orientation

  • What I can offer you toward meeting your goals

  • What you hope to achieve or gain, and if I am well suited to help in that process

Ongoing work:

  • Sessions can occur in person or by phone

  • Depending on the nature of your goals, we may work in brief blocks of sessions which recur as needed, or you may wish to connect for ongoing work weekly.

  • I offer a sliding scale for self-paying clients. My rates are outlined in the Therapy Rates sheet below.

  • I accept Vermont Medicaid (Green Mountain Care) and most Blue Cross Blue Shield plansI do not accept other insurances.

  • For those engaging via self-pay, sessions may be paid for individually or in blocks of 6 for added rate reduction.

  • Personal Check / Cash / Credit Card

  • All insurance co-pays are due at the time of service.
